Day 56- 10 October 2008
Today we went to the High Dam which was built in 1980s which stops the Nile river from flooding and provides a valuable source of water for the egyptian people. We then headed by another motorboat to the Temple of Isis (Philea Temple) which is on an island and was built in the greek roman period. This is just as impressive as the other temples, but alot of the carvings in the walls have been scratched out when this was overtaken by the french and became a christian church.
After this we went for a horse and cart ride along teh nile to the aswan market which is very colourful and wuite a long road full of all sorts of souveners and spices etc.
Tonight we get aboard an overnight train to Cairo (which should be a nice 15 or so hours).
