Day 33- Zermatt and Geneva

Day 33- 17 September 2008 Today we started off with a fantastic breakfast in the hotel which in the dining room our table had a great view of the matterhorn which was very pleasant. We then walked around Zermatt and went to the Matterhorn Museum which amongst other things houses the rope of the first ascent of the Matterhorn (and the crucial part of the rope which had snapped resulting in only 3 of the 7 climbers which actually made it down back to Zermatt alive) and Zermatatlantis which is a town below ground on the original level back in the 1800,s. The museum was free as we had a swiss train pass but was quite interesting. We then got on the train and headed to Visp and then onto a train to Geneva. After about 6 hours we ended up in Geneva and checked into our small but comfortable hotel.
