Day 7- 22 August 2008
Today marks the start at 6 am of my
contiki Edinburgh trip and the 8 hour bus ride was very long....
We were told that we were going to see the Tattoo that night rather than on
Saturday night which was pretty disappointing.
We arrived at the royal mile and headed to the castle and took our place. Any issue that we were not there on
Saturday seemed to make little difference. The people were packed in tight and the view of the castle at the end of the seating was awe inspiring. After a brief introduction the mass pipe bands came out of the castle and into the arena. What an amazing thing. The TV does not do justice to atmosphere in the crowd and the amazing performances to follow. This is truly a top 10 experience in the world that must be done. Photos will follow once i find a decent
