Day 8- Edinburgh

Day 8 23 August 2008 Started off the day with a bus tour around Edinburgh seeing the major sights. Then I and a couple of friends from the trip went to the Edinburgh castle and took a guided tour around. The castle is quite small but still interesting and showcases the Scottish crown jewels which was just as impressive albeit only 3 pieces, as the English crown jewels. I also saw the destiny stone which is taken to Westminster abbey and put in the coronation chair (which i saw at Westminster abbey) and used for all coronations. We then had lunch at Frankensteins a dodgy themed restaurant before doing a tour of underground Edinburgh. When the plague hit, the town which existed was built over and a new town placed on top of it. Some of the lanes and house remain which we viewed a small section. This was called Mary Kings close. We then headed to a fringe festival show and saw Jimoen who was hilarious. After this we headed to a few pubs with a group of people and ended up back at our accommodation very early in the morning. Interestingly i have found the best pizza shop in the world. I ordered a pizza and within 10 seconds it was freshly cooked out of the oven and in my hand. You cant beat that for service.
